In your head too much when you're singing?

Did you know that we have more intelligences within us than our IQ? Well, sure you may know about EQ, emotional intelligence, but did you know about KQ? Kinesthetic intelligence is the quotient of intelligence in the body - and current research indicates that there's a whole lot of it!

All of these intelligences can be trained but need to be trained differently. We teach our intellect through logic and reasoning. We teach our emotions through mindfulness and self-care. OUR BODY LEARNS THROUGH DYNAMIC EXPERIENCES.

However, do we ever really assess what our body knows about our singing? After all, out of all of these intelligences, the body needs to know the answers. No audience cares if you can describe the right technique - it has to emerge out of your body.

This workshop brings KQ into the spotlight to find out what it knows, and to teach it more.

How do we do that?! We turn the voice OFF. Singing silently magnifies things for the mind’s eye. It's a real glimpse behind the curtain!

Part of the problem in typical practice is that the voice is always on. You can’t help but focus on the product, even if you are trying to work through the process. Try it now - sing something completely silently with full commitment. Let your mind‘s eye be free to wander and wonder. I bet you will see something or feel something that helps you consider something in a new way. This is what bottom-up learning is all about!
